What we don’t do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- WheelSpinny doesn’t set cookies.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.
- No third-party scripts, fonts, or embeds. Every file the site uses comes from WheelSpinny itself.
What is stored, and where
To save you retyping, WheelSpinny keeps a few things in your browser’s local storage on this device. This data is never sent to us.
- Wheel pages keep your list, plus your sound, spin-length, and wheel color settings. The letter wheel also keeps which letters are on it and which have been picked. Truth or dare deals a fresh wheel each visit instead of keeping its list, and keeps your player names, group and level (never an 18+ one), whether you spin for truths, dares, or both, scores, read-aloud choice, and any prompts you write.
- The list randomizer and team generator keep your list, and the team generator also keeps your team names and rules.
- The number generator keeps its settings, such as the range and how many numbers to draw.
- The raffle winner picker keeps the entrants, prizes, and winner log of the raffle in progress, so a reload doesn’t lose a draw. Start over clears the log.
- Your light or dark theme choice.
To delete it, clear the list in a tool, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Results shown for the current visit, such as a wheel’s Results tab, a shuffled order, teams, or drawn numbers, are not saved; they’re gone when you close or reload the page.
Reading prompts aloud
Truth or dare can read prompts aloud using your browser’s built-in speech. WheelSpinny picks a voice that runs on your device when one is available. Some browsers only offer online voices, which send the text to the browser maker to be spoken, so leave reading aloud off if that matters to you for your own prompts.
Share links
When you copy a share link from a wheel or the list randomizer, your list is encoded into the part of the address after the #. Browsers don’t send that part to the server, so we never receive it. But anyone who has the link can read the list, and apps you paste it into may keep a copy. Don’t put anything private in a list you plan to share.
The number generator works differently: it keeps its settings (such as ?min=1&max=6) in the main part of the address, so you can bookmark them. Like any web address, that part reaches the server when the page loads. It only ever holds the generator’s settings, never your results.
Server logs
Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages may keep standard technical request logs, such as IP address, browser type, and which page was requested, for security and reliability. Those logs never include your lists.
